Delete your GoCushy account
How to delete your account in the GoCushy app (GoCushy by Daom Limited) or without the app, what is deleted or switched off, and what is kept.
In the app
- Open the GoCushy app and sign in.
- Go to Settings and tap Delete account.
- Type
DELETE to confirm.
The GoCushy web app has the same option under Settings.
Without the app
Email support@gocushy.co.nz from the email address you sign in with, and ask us to delete your account. We only act on a request that comes from that address.
Before you delete
If a refund on one of your sales is still being processed, or your Monthly plan is still active, you may be asked to finish these first: wait for the refund to finish, or move back to the Free plan.
What is deleted straight away
- Your sign-in email address, your name, your support email address and your phone number.
- Your password, two-step sign-in (authenticator) setup, sign-in codes and sign-in links.
- Your notification settings, your remembered devices and your push notification registrations.
- The link between GoCushy and your Stripe account.
- Your buyers’ IP addresses on your orders.
- The contact details on payment requests nobody paid. Those requests are cancelled.
- Stored copies of app requests that were kept only so the app could safely retry them (other than refund ones).
What is switched off
- API keys and app sign-in tokens are revoked: they stop working at once, and a record that they existed is kept.
- Every signed-in device is signed out.
- Your pages (offers) are switched off, not deleted: they stop taking payments.
What is kept, and for how long
Your business records are kept for 7 years from the date you delete your account, because New Zealand tax law (the IRD) requires sales and invoice records to be kept. That means:
- Your business name (if you set one) and GST number.
- Your sales and orders, including the buyer details that appear on an invoice (name, email, GST number and shipping address).
- Tax invoices, and payment requests that were paid.
- Your products and the images and files you uploaded, and your pages (switched off, as above).
- Records of refunds, including refunds still being resolved. These can be kept longer than 7 years if a refund record still has to be held.
- An activity history of your account.
Removing these records after the 7 years is a separate step we carry out; it is not automatic today. You will not be able to sign in to see these records after you delete your account.
Your Stripe account
Your Stripe account is yours, not ours, and deleting your GoCushy account does not close it. If you want to close it, do that with Stripe.
